Particulate-control filtration for precision manufacturing and contamination-sensitive spaces.

Precision electronics clean manufacturing

Why filtration matters in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing

Electronics and semiconductor fabrication is highly sensitive to airborne particulate and, in many processes, to airborne molecular contamination — trace chemical vapours that can affect yield even when particle counts are within specification.

Typical filtration stages

Fabrication areas typically use staged pre-filtration and fine filtration ahead of HEPA or ULPA terminal filtration sized to the cleanroom's ISO classification, often delivered through fan-filter units across the ceiling grid. Where airborne molecular contamination is a concern, activated-carbon or chemical-filtration media may be added at the make-up air or recirculation stage.

Selection considerations

Selection depends on the target cleanroom classification, face velocity and recovery requirements, and whether molecular contamination control is required for the specific process node. EEC can review filter construction, media, and frame against a stated cleanroom requirement; this page does not state that a given configuration meets a specific fab's qualification without that facility's own testing.
