View productA practical framework for defining filtration duty before choosing a configuration.
Filter selection works best from the actual operating requirement outward: required efficiency grade or classification, rated airflow, available installation dimensions and depth, and the environment's dust or contamination characteristics. Starting from a catalogue and working backward tends to produce a filter that fits the housing but not the duty.
Efficiency grade or classification (ISO 16890, EN 1822, MERV, or an equivalent target) sets the minimum performance bar. Rated airflow and face velocity determine the pressure drop the filter will actually run at in service, not just its nameplate rating. Frame material and gasket type need to suit the installation's housing interface and environmental exposure. Dust holding capacity and expected service life should be weighed against realistic maintenance access and change-out frequency.
EEC can review construction, media, and dimensions against a stated duty condition and recommend a starting configuration. What EEC cannot do from this page alone is confirm compliance with a facility's own qualification, validation, or regulatory requirement — that confirmation depends on the facility's own engineering and quality processes, informed by (but not replaced by) this general guidance.
